Garbis serves as a counselor specializing in Relationship Health, after having completed his course studies at Alliant University’s Marriage and Family Therapy – California School of Professional Psychology (CSPP). He is currently writing his doctoral dissertation on the topic of successful interventions that help children and adolescents recover from trauma.

For nearly two decades, Garbis has served within the field of education, working with children dealing with various emotional, academic, and social issues, as well as adolescents experiencing a range of behavioral issues and mental disorders.

Garbis uses various mindfulness-based interventions, in conjunction with the latest evidence-based practices (EBP) incorporating both body and mind in an atmosphere of acceptance and empathy. Having studied with teachers in Asia and the USA, Garbis has been practicing mindfulness and meditation techniques for over two decades, as he helps bring a sense of tranquility and peace in his clients’ and their families’ lives while helping them exercise their freedom and choice to forgive and thereby take responsibility for their thoughts and actions.

Bringing his years of experience to HWI while helping your children grow both as individuals and as collaborative partners in group settings, Garbis will help each of them build the foundation to be transformed into empowered and caring adults as they successfully discover, chart, and live out their lives in appreciation, while enhancing their families and communities around them.

Liza Boubari is a certified clinical hypnotherapist, stress management consultant, and domestic abuse consultant. She is the founder of HealWithin International, 3E Event, HealWithin Hypnotherapy in Glendale, California. She is fluent in English, Armenian and Farsi.

The scope of her practice includes traditional and Ericksonian therapy, Time-Line Therapy, Guided Imagery, and NLP. She has been in practice over 15 years and is proud to serve as the Vice President of the American Council of Hypnotist Examiners Executive board. The A.C.H.E. is the primary organization that has been responsible for the recognition and regulation of hypnotherapy training in the United States of America.

She is very active in her community and has served on several local boards including Pacific Clinics, Guild for Glendale Adventist Medical Center, Executive Toast Masters, Kiwanis, the Glendale YWCA, and others.

Toby Karlin and Kyle Hollingsworth have a desire to heal through their shared gifts of art and music. Their original music ranges from moody, sensual soundscapes with ethereal vocals, to folk and spiritual ballads. They write, record, and perform music, and co-create sound baths and multi-sensory experiences.

KYLE HOLLINGSWORTH

Kyle is a vocalist, songwriter, sound healer, artist, writer, and teacher. She’s had a rich career in the arts and design and has been performing for more than a decade.

Her focus is on combining her fine art, music, intuitive gifts and in honoring her own truth. Kyle sings with the Golden Bridge Choir in Hollywood and volunteers with Toby to offer their music to hospice patients.

TOBY KARLIN

Toby is a musician, singer/songwriter & sound alchemist who plays a wide variety of instruments. He is a teacher, composer, producer, and performer. Toby holds a BA degree from the Berklee College of Music.

He is the Musical Director for Invertigo Dance Theater in Los Angeles, teaches drumming and saxophone, and is a percussionist for the Golden Bridge Choir in Hollywood.

Tamar was born and raised in Glendale, CA where she attended Glendale public schools K-12. Her love for books, storytelling and children led her to continue her education in becoming a school teacher. She is now a Third-grade teacher with the Glendale Unified School District.

Ms. Mirzayan has a BA in Philosophy and Education (UCLA), MA in Teaching and Multiple Subject Credential (USC), and MA in Educational Administration and Administrative Services Credential from (CSUN). In her spare time, Tamar enjoys time with family, reading, writing, and cooking.

Bringing her unique gentle and loving approach, plus years of experience to HWI, Tamar will help your children explore creative writing and improve communication skills. Tamar helps each child expand their mind and imagination so they can successfully express their thoughts and feelings, and evolve into more competent communicators.

Ann Marie has taught private and group painting classes as well as family art/drawing classes for nearly two decades. As a teaching artist, she provides lessons on Master Artists and demonstrations to facilitate artistic learning.

In step-by-step instruction, her students learn techniques in drawing, shading, 3D geometric forms, perspective, and painting.

Ann Marie Smith’s goals are to inspire creativity, build artistic expression and confidence, and to educate students of all ages in multi-media approaches to the arts.

Our themes include still life, 3D geometrics, landscapes, portraits, animals, collage, abstract design and clay work. Mrs. Smith’s professional work includes public murals at various sites and through Glendale Unified School district.

Her extensive knowledge in creative expression and art, plus being a mother of two herself, gives her insight into how children express when in the flow.  Her years of experience in working with children share their intuitive creative side will not only build their confidence but help them express their feelings and untapped gifts in a fun setting.  The goal – for children to successfully discover and live out their lives in appreciation of who they are.
